Featured Artist: Bonnie Zak

Swing Low, Swing High by Bonnie Zak

Bonnie’s body of work will put most viewers into a good mood. Dogs,
cats, family members and complete strangers in their typical habitats
populate many of her pieces. Shape and design are her particular and
extraordinary strengths. Her skills were developed early on, when she
worked as a staff artist for the Chicago Tribune and for various ad
agencies. A graduate of the American Academy of Art and the School of
The Art Institute, Bonnie’s artistic foundation is solid and her awards are numerous.
She has worked as a docent at the Block Gallery in Evanston,
has served on the Evanston Art Council, and has been artist in
residence at the Kohl Children’s Museum in Glenview. “Moonet,” her
contribution to Chicago’s famous Cows on Parade, was a popular
favorite.
