Featured Artist: William Conger


William Conger has a BFA from University of New Mexico and his Masters of Fine Art degree from the University of Chicago. He has taught at DePaul University, Northwestern University, and Rock Valley College.

He has been exhibiting professionally since 1958 and is prolific in the art world. His works have been at numerous museums including Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, Mitchell Museum, Lubeznik Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, Johnson Museum, The Smithsonian Institution and most recently a Retrospective 1958-2008, Chicago Cultural Center.

William is listed in Who’s Who in American Art and has been featured in publications such as Chicago Tribune, Milwaukee Journal, Chicago Reader, Time Out, Los Angeles Times, Sun-Times, Santa Fe New Mexican, just to name a few.

He is an accomplished and nationally known artist, a valued educator and sits on dozens of boards and advises to art organizations, universities and schools. He has received multiple awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award by Ravenswood ArtWalk. We are honored to have his art on exhibit at OpenWall.
